Anna Viney – A Celebrant For All Occasions
![]()
If you are looking at this website, you must have a special occasion in mind. I’m available to help you with any ceremony you might need or be thinking about. From weddings, funerals to vow renewals, you will want the occasion to be memorable. You need a celebrant who will professionally make your occasion exactly how you would want it. Someone who can listen to your needs and work on your behalf to find all the right elements that you want.
So that you understand how I can do this for you, please let me introduce myself to you. My name is Anna Viney and I have recently retired from a long career as a teacher and principal with the Department of Education, Tasmania. During those years, I developed the skills to listen, organise, research, negotiate, speak in public and work as a team member. I have had the pleasure of working with many different people and teaching students from all over the world. I have developed empathy and understanding of many situations and conditions that people find themselves with. Organisation of many events characterised my work over the years; I learnt to be proficient, creative and flexible and to also use my initiative where necessary. All characteristics you need for your ceremony organisation.
I am married with one daughter and live in Lenah Valley. Together we have travelled the world and wondered at many amazing sights. However, with that came meeting many people from different cultures and countries with whom we have made connections. I believe through my teaching work and my travelling, that I have a depth of understanding around the cultural, social and emotional needs of many. I have attended many ceremonies myself and have the capacity to envision the ceremony and its components that you require.
I have outlined my processes and fees in the pages to follow. Please don’t hesitate to ring or email me to set up an initial meeting to discuss your needs. This first meeting is always obligation free.

- I can also give you advice on how to apply for your Marriage Certificate.
Photography
Taking photos is certainly the best way to ensure your special occasion is recorded for your memories. The best memories are those recorded when expected and when everyone is aware of what is happening. I would recommend that you hire a photographer for the special purpose. I am happy to meet with the photographer and make sure that times such as signing of the register are recorded in a comfortable manner for all concerned.
Photo Montages – Funerals
The funeral home will happily make a montage of your selected photos of your loved one if you require.
Readings, Music and Poetry
These additions to services personalise and often paint visual/aural pictures to guests of the occasion. It is wonderful to have a well chosen, apt reading, poem or piece of music.
The names of these and who will be presenting them need to be on any program if you require. Please note ‘changes’ to names in my Stationery ordering document.
Copyright
This a very important consideration under Australian Law. To ensure the smooth running of the ceremony, you must make sure that your additions to the service have the correct permissions.
Music
Usually the occasion is seen as private, so copyright permission is not required.
Poetry or a reading
A short extract is unlikely to require permission, but a longer one may.
